Behind The Lens

Location

Driving along the West Cliff Drive in Santa Cruz, CA Close to the Pier and the Boardwalk. Monterey, CA is South of the Fishing Vessels. (right side of the picture) The Soberanes fire has floated its smoke across the Ocean and has caused a rare view of the Horizon at Cowells Beach.

Time

Monday August 1st midday. Smoke and Smell of the fire is very visible in Santa Cruz., CA Soberanes fire 2016. 11:55A.M.

Lighting

No extra lighting it was midday.

Equipment

Iphone 6. Apple no other lens or flash. ( I may have expanded the photo)

Inspiration

I was driving along West Cliff and Noticed the View at Cowells Beach was Different then any other day. I Parked my car and went crossed the street I then took two pictures. I probably sensed that the view was different. I had wanted to post this to social media to give a picture of what we were experiencing from the Soberanes Fire 2016.

Editing

No I usually just take a few pictures., view and crop or expand. This picture I did expand it to show the two Fishing Boats.

In my camera bag

I don't have any equipment., I have been taking pictures for several years and plan to buy some photography accessories.

Feedback

I didn't plan on taking this picture., It was more that I saw a need to post what I saw to Social Media- I had been hearing and watching the news about the Fire and when I saw a smoky horizon I then decided to take the picture. I may Name this picture Smokey Horizon Soberanes Fire 2016.
