Imagine myself driving a truck down a country road with the windows down and no other sounds.

Behind The Lens
Location
I live in Illinois and this photo was taken one morning on my way to work. I got to the top of the hill and immediately slammed on my breaks and pulled over because I saw this view ahead of me. I knew I had to capture it!Time
This was bright and early in the morning, just after the sun had come up, probably around 7 AM or so.Lighting
The golden light and the angle of the sun really made this the picture it is.Equipment
Nikon D300s and the Nikon 18-140 VR (I love that lens!), no flash, handheld.Inspiration
As I drove over the crest of the hill, the sun, fog, and the color just screamed at me to stop and capture it. I had to oblige!Editing
I didn't do much. I increased the saturation just slightly and I increased the clarity. That was about it.In my camera bag
Nikon D300s, D7000, Nikon 18-140 VR, Nikon 80-200 f/2.8, Nikon 50 f/1.8, Tokina 12-24 f/4, and Nikon 28-70 f/2.8, an SB-800 and a SB-600.Feedback
The use of trees or other objects for framing really lends a lot to pictures like this. While I didn't know this spot looked the way it did until I got there, I had my camera with me at the ready looking for places that spoke to me (this one yelled!!), ready to capture just this kind of scene. Always have your camera with you and if you can, have it at the ready because moments like this can fade quickly. I've tried to recreate this a few times just to see if I could and while I can come close, the details of this day likely just won't happen again the way they did here.
