Location
This was taken in Hatcher Pass. AlaskaTime
This was taken around 5 pm on the 19th of July 2014.Lighting
The sun is still pretty high in the sky here in July.. It was partly cloudy with some shade from the vegetation.Equipment
Shot with a Nikon D 7100 with the Nikon 18-300 mm lens at 18mm. Iso of 200 F 6.3 at 1/160th of a sec. Hand held kneeling down.Inspiration
A friend an I had traveled Hatcher Pass stopping at several unique spots one of which was an old school bus. We were then crossing a river and seen the old bridge, We took shots of it from the road and then walked over to check it out more closely. I love old broken down things to shoot. I like shooting from a lover perspective.Editing
This shot was post processed first in LR 6 and then taken into Topaz Labs B&W. I do not remember what settings in Topaz that I used. I usually do lens correction, level and then highlights down, shadows up. Adjust whites and blacks. Bring up the clarity a little and sharpen. In my camera bag
Today I carry my Nikon D750 with my 200-500 F5.6, Nikon 20 F2.8, Nikon 50 F1.8 and my Nikon 24-300. I carry lens cleaning supplies, wireless shutter release extra batteries, flashlight, ND and CIR-PL filter. I also carry and least one tripod with me in the car.Feedback
Always be on the look out for unique and unusually things. Travel back country roads. Shoot from different angles and perspectives. Shoot raw so that you can play around in light and other editing programs that are non-destructive so you can experiment with different settings. This editing job was just good luck.
