Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the backyard of home on rainy day. This photo is from my initial days when i first started taking interest in photography.

Time

It was a rainy day. I remember it was raining all day since the night before. I was sitting in backyard porch enjoying the rain when I suddenly noticed the lonely flower all covered with droplets. So I decided to take out my camera and capture a shot.

Lighting

About lighting, there's not much to share since it was raining all day. It was cloudy and dark. So I had to adjust the ISO to take the shot.

Equipment

This shot was taken on Nikon D5300, with 18-55mm f2.8 lens. No other equipments were used.

Inspiration

Well, the flower looked very graceful standing alone in the rain. The droplets on the petals were really beautiful. Missing this opportunity would have been a loss.

Editing

There was not post-processing to do. Just a little change in exposure and contrast.

In my camera bag

I still don't own much equipments. So I try to capture as best as I can with what I have. So the first thing is my Nikon D5300 camera body, 18-55mm with f2.8 and a 55-300mm lens. Recently, I have acquired a macro lens and I carry it all the time cause you never know what kind of surprise you can get along the way. Besides that I keep aputure LED light.

Feedback

With my experience, I don't think I will be able to give much advice. There are so many talented photographers out there with so much experience than mine. They will have far better advices than I do. But yes, as everyone knows light is the key element when it comes to photography. Light is what makes a great composition if done right. So make sure you understand light as fast as you can. Be it natural light or artificial, play with them, manipulate them. Practice as much as you can. In the process, you will also find out which one you prefer to work with.
