Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the models , home , it was a temporary arrangement as the initial shoot was to be an external one woodlands fields etc but the weather did not oblige and was extremely wet. so as we both had a rare spare day we compromised with a make shift studio (Models Front room)

Time

After a lot of decisions about where we could shoot we got shooting around lunch time

Lighting

The lighting was crammed into a very small area, and due to the low ceiling it was shot more from the sides low level , close to 45 degree left and right of front with one soft box 1/3rd power and a shoot through umbrella 1/2 power

Equipment

Camera was the canon 5D mark 3 only the third time I had used after swapping from the Canon 7D with the Tamron 24-70 F2.8 0r the canon 70-200 F4 as I used these for all of that particular shoot.Hand held with studio lights and triggers as above.

Inspiration

Searching for a good look for the models new website we tried many different poses but her eyes and hair are stunning so we concentrated on the messy hair look with a very cheeky smile , she is capable of pulling off any look due to her stunning looks and her excellent give it a go attitude Hannah the model was asked to keep mixing it up and changing after each click which she had a good time doing and never ran out of poses or expressions, this capture was one of many that worked well.

Editing

only adjust d as required within Light Room

In my camera bag

Generally carry in the PELI case Canon 5D Mark 3 and a 7D bodies 70-200 L lens Canon F4 IS USM Tamron 24-70 F2.8 Canon 50mm prime 1.8 Canon 85mm Prime Memory cards yongnou triggers Canon 430EX2 speed light

Feedback

Get the model to have fun and mix it up,do not try and stage it make it real and most of all let the model know how great she is doing as she will try and improve. I got so many great captures I'm not even sure this is the best one of the day its probably the most real image of the models character Sassy and cheeky with heart of gold. Thanks Steve
