What an absolutely beautiful picture! I'm in Australia and have been looking for sunflower farms to get a great capture like this! Well done :-)

Behind The Lens

Location

While driving around the countryside in East Central Kansas near the capital of Topeka.

Time

Between 6 and 8 pm as it was nearing sunset.

Lighting

This one was basically a "point and shoot" moment and no tripod was used. I always have my camera set on Aperture Priority and then manual focus. This was taken at 70mm, F8, and 1/80th/sec with manual focus and natural light.

Equipment

Nikon D5100 DSLR, no tripod.

Inspiration

I grew up in northeastern Kansas in a small farming community and have always loved crops and livestock. I was just out for a drive and didn't even know I was going to be able to capture this magnificent photo. Yes, there is skill involved, but I would be amiss if I didn't give my Lord Jesus the glory for helping me take this shot.

Editing

A little contrast adjustment in Photoshop CC 2015.

In my camera bag

Nikon D5100, Fuji Finepix S7000, various multipliers for macros, a tripod, and various filters.

Feedback

It may seem odd to some, but I pray before I take off on with my camera and ask my Lord to be my guide to get a great shot that will glorify Him.
