This was taken in my home made macro tent, I had just purchased a 105mm Macro lens and wanted to see what could be created with it.Time
I remember opening the door to the delivery of the lens, the feeling of excitement was like that of a child on Christmas morning.Lighting
I wanted to create an image that stood on a clean,crisp uncluttered background, so the viewer would be drawn into the vibrant colours of the feather.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D3200, a Sigma 105mm Macro lens and x2 Yongnuo off camera flashes.Inspiration
I was visiting my parents, intently watching their Parrot go through her grooming routine when she removed this feather and offered it to me, I took this as a sign.Editing
This image has gone through very little processing as I only took up photography a couple of years ago and try to get everything right in camera.In my camera bag
Being a relatively new member to the world of Photography, I tend to overcompensate and overload my bag, and I start with my trusty D7100 and the 7-8 Batteries (I have a fear of running out of Juice!), along with my 105mm Macro lens, I have my trusty 70-200mm f2.8 which I never go anywhere without! If I have a thought that there may be a chance of Bird/Nature shots, then I'll drag the 150-600mm along, which tends to weigh the bag down a little, but the shots that can be gotten with it certainly outweigh the negatives.Feedback
Being new to the scene, I tend to try and create original images that grab the viewer, which I find very hard in this line of work, so all the advice I can give is, Listen to everything around you, and if an idea pops into your head, run with it! and if you like the outcome, it's a success! If you don't like the outcome, it's a lesson!
