Location
The photo was taken on a flower field beside a bike path in Günterstal, Freiburg, in the beautiful Black Forest on June 24, 2016.Time
It was quite late (around 7 PM) Actually I was trying to take some blue hour poppy pictures. As it had rained shortly before there were beautiful drops on the flowers. But it was quite windy and I was not very successful. Disappointed, I wanted to stop my photo session when I saw this little ladybug covered with drops and desperately trying to reach the end of the blade of grass...Lighting
As I prefer shooting without a tripod and considering the weather and light conditions I raised ISO to 800 (1/100 s, f 4,0 and tried my best.Equipment
This was shot on a Olympus E-Pl5 with the small but nice 60 mm F2.8 Zuiko Macro lens.Inspiration
In 2016, ladybugs were a rarity in our region so I was quite happy to having found one exemplar.Editing
Since I always shot in RAW I do my post-processing in Lightroom. In this case, I intensified the colors of the ladybug and the blade of grass and I brightened the green background a little bit up to highlight the motive. In my camera bag
As I like to travel light I decided to sell my DSLR and to buy a little system camera. I love macro photography and for this purpose my E-Pl5 is perfect.Feedback
It is not necessary to go far away to take fascinating pictures. You can find worthwhile motives right on your doorstep. Photography has taught me to go through life with my eyes open...
