This photo shows the L'Hemisfèric building at the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia, Spain. The building is meant to resemble a giant eye and is also called “eye of knowledge”. Inside this building is a IMAX cinema and a planetarium.Time
I shoot this photo in early April 2015 at around 18:00 while I was on a vacation in Valencia, SpainLighting
The photo was shoot on a cloudy and overcast day, at the moment I took the photo I don’t liked it much because I was flat and not that colorful, but later I decided to convert it to black and White.Equipment
I used a Sony a6000 with a Sony Zeiss 16-70 F4 lens, that’s my favorite camera and lenses combination when I want to travel light. Settings used are 1/200s , 23mm, f7,1 ISO 100Inspiration
On that day I shot so many photos in the City of Arts and Sciences because there are so many interesting buildings there, so this photo was only one out of many. But some days later at home while I was sorting the photos I decided to post process this photo in a different way as my typical travel photos. Because of the flat colors of the photo and because of the this modern and futuristic architecture I wanted a look like from a since fiction movie so I decided to process it this way.Editing
I used Adobe Lightroom for the basic adjustments and Silver Efex Pro for the black and white conversion. I enhanced the contrast a lot and I added a little bit of blue to get this metallic look that a perfect fit for this kind of futuristic architecture. In my camera bag
Because I’m mainly into travel photography and also into concert photography I have two sets of equipment. For my travel photography I’m using a Sony A6000 which is a small an light mirrorless camera with an APS-C sized sensor, and I have various f1.8 prim lenses and various f4 zooms from ultra-wide angel to telephoto. For my concert photography I own a Sony A7II full frame mirrorless camera with 24-70mm f2.8 and 70-200mm f2.8 lenses to be able to shot in low-light conditions at concert venues.Feedback
When you are not happy with the colors in your photo try to go black and white… sometimes it's a game changer
