Location
The photo was taken in my garden we have three pairs of woodpecker in the area and every year they bring there young to our garden . I set up a pole with holes filled with fat for them but every year its only the males that feeds the young .Time
It is any time of the day you just have to sit and waite .Lighting
I set the post so it is right for the light for most of the dayEquipment
I used a Canon 7D and a Canon 500mm lens .Inspiration
I have been trying to get the woodpecker to come to the garden for a long time and a last they are now coming plus the are lovely to watch.Editing

Just keep you eyes open and watch what is going on i heard the woodpecker in the area and saw them flying over then set up a pole drilled holes in it filled it ground peanuts and fat then waited when they were happy set up my hide now they come all year round and bring there young also the best of luck to you .
