Dear Daisy: Yes, the costumes are ornate. It is made of deer skin with beads and feathers added. This tribe has been wearing the same design for several hundred years. They live on and near a reservation at Arlee, Montana. Photo was taken at their annual pow wow, a big time for dancing and Indian music of flute and drum. Thanks for noticing and making comment!

Dear Liz: You are probably correct about long hours to make such an intricate outfit. The American Indians have a lot of pride in their culture and heritage, they love dancing, music, and dressing in their traditional clothing. It seems that at least once a year every tribe has what is called a pow wow for a get together in celebrating their past. :)
