Excellent shot of these swallows in the nest. I have a nest on my front porch unfortunately the hatchlings didn't survive the Texas heat. You do excellent work.

Behind The Lens

Location

This picture was taken from my front deck. The Swallows built their nest on the side of my house.

Time

I took this picture in the early afternoon on a beautiful Summer day.

Lighting

It was a beautiful, sunny, clear, Summer day...no need for any additional lighting.

Equipment

I used my Canon Powershot. No other equipment. :)

Inspiration

The Swallows build their nest on the side of our house every year. We love watching them as they build their nest, lay their eggs, feed and care for their babies, and then when the babies fly for the first time. The beauty of Nature never ceases to amaze me!! There is nothing quite as sweet and innocent as watching the baby Swallows open their mouths wide when they see their parents coming to feed them. I wanted to capture and share that moment when I took this picture.

Editing

I cropped the image, so we could really see those baby Swallows. :)

In my camera bag

I never leave home without my Canon Powershot!!

Feedback

I try to get as close as I can to any animal I am taking a picture of. I pay attention to how close I can get without upsetting them. Once I find their comfort zone, I sit still and wait for my moment. When I see the shot I want coming, I start taking pictures. I take as many pictures as I can, animals don't like to stay still for long!! My pictures are also my memories, so I try to capture moments and not just a nice shot. I always hope that others can see what I was going for when they look at my images. :)
