Location
This photo was taken on a gondola in Venice, Italy. I'm a student hoping to pursue photography and better my skills as a whole.Time
I took this image around 2pm in the hot Italian sun in June. Not the best idea in hindsight, but that reflection off the water versus the shady areas on the water made it prime for this.Lighting
I really wanted the juxtaposition with the dark and light. The dark canals of Venice and the bright sunlight made that possible for me.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon 60D with the standard lens. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
I was sitting on a gondola in the middle of a canal in Venice, Italy. I took a moment to just take in ever little thing i was seeing and realized I have to capture this. I never wanted to forget that moment in my life.Editing
I used Lightroom in order to enhance the natural colors and textures in this image. As some people know the water in Venice is not the most beautiful shade of green/blue so I tried my best to change it without loosing the integrity of the scene itself. In my camera bag
I am the kind of person who just grabs one camera and runs. I want the least amount on me as possible. My go to is my canon 60D.Feedback
Use the vessel you are on in the image, make it your point of interest, and have the surroundings complement it rather than take over the image. Simple angles will get you here.
