Driving down a deserted road near Vestrahorn Iceland, we saw a mammoth snow covered mountain that we wanted to shoot. We parked on a muddy, snow-covered dirt road, strapped on our 40 pound packs, and started hiking to the mountain. After walking for about 30 minutes, we found ourselves in the middle of a raging snow storm. Three hours later, after trudging through knee deep snow and across ice cold streams, we realized that we were still at least 10 miles away from the mountain. We discussed our predicament and decided to head back to the truck. We hiked back in the blizzard for two more hours before the sun finally came out revealing a beautiful blue sky. We stopped and decided to shoot.
