There is a Hindu god names - Ganesha who has the head of an elephant but the body of a human. Invariably, he is the most loved God of all. He is portrayed as sitting in this pose in many of this statues. That image of the "chilling out" Lord Ganesha, inspired me to pose our little model here like this.Editing
Yes I used Photoshop to remove the hands of the baby's father as he was holding the baby up in this position for me. I also used a layer of curves to add light to the baby's face. Another layer of curves to reduce light on the over all image except for the baby. This helped make the baby stand out in the image. I added a bit of colour on the baby's cheeks with the help of a colour balance layer. Then I flattened the image and dodged the baby's face just a little. Finally I added sharpness after taking the image back to lightroom... and just a bit of luminance to smoothen his skin. Job Done!!In my camera bag

Honestly I would suggest you only attempt this pose if you are a newborn photographer with a lot of experience because one needs to be very very careful about the safety of the child. You can never be too careful. Try it, if you have a very sleepy baby or a baby that can be easily calmed down with a soother/pacifier. have enough cushioning under the area where the baby's elbow will be placed. In the first image take the shot of the baby in this pose with the assistant/dad/mom holding the head and the hand of the baby (on which his/her head is resting) with both their hands... very very firmly but not so hard that the baby's blood circulation stops. Then take another shot of just the entire set up at the same depth of field and settings as u took the shot of the baby at. Finally in post production place the set up shot on the shot of the baby and with a brush tool... mask the hands of the assistant/dad/mom out with the help of a layer mask. Hope this helps. <3
