It was dark, cold and pouring down when I took this image. I cranked my shutter speed very low and came out with this photo. It makes the wave look co

On the North Shore of Hawaii, the sun sets over the water. I took this opportunity to get some images with the ripples of the water.

As round as it gets. Floated around the ocean for a few hours shooting small but perfect waves!

As I am about to duck under this wave, I take one last shot. The water looks like cement and the wave is now frozen.

After surfing for 2 hours I wandered around and found a few kangaroos.

Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken on the South Coast of NSW, about 3 and a half hours south of Sydney.

Time

The photo was taken in the morning, before school.

Lighting

The sun is still in it's early stages of rising, this is why the wave is green..

Equipment

I used a canon 7d and a canon 50mm f1.8 kept nice and dry in a water housing.

Inspiration

There are a lot of wave shots out there. A different angle of a wave makes it look completely different.

Editing

I just edited the colours a bit to make it more natural and to make it look like what I saw on the day.

In my camera bag

I normally bring a canon 7d, canon 50mm f1.4, canon 55-250mm, a tripod, a water housing and my flippers to keep me afloat!

Feedback

If you're looking to capture an image like this, I would suggest getting up super early in the morning. The light is so beautiful and 9/10 there is no one around. Plus, sleeping is over rated anyway.
