Thank you, I haven't done much buildings/landscapes but I was pleasantly surprised how this turned out.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at the Kings Mountain National Military Park in North Carolina.

Time

, it was mid afternoon about 4 pm on a beautiful spring day with crystal clear Carolina blue skies.

Lighting

The suns position helped me choose the angle of this photo to best capture the shadows on the building.

Equipment

This was shot with an Olympus E-600 and a 14 - 54mm 1:2.8-3.5 lens and no other equipment was used.

Inspiration

After more than 2 years of focusing on Scenario Paintball Photography and the challenges of constantly changing lighting I wanted to try some other types of photography. After meeting some close friends at the battle grounds to attempt some pictures of their newborn miracle baby Andrew I started to explore areas of the park I hadn't been to before. There was a gathering of antique travel trailers set up on this farm grounds but I was drawn to the buildings. This barn took me back to the farm I grew up on and the wonderfully simple times spent working and playing.

Editing

The only post processing I did was to adjust the highlights, shadows, clarity and vibrance.

In my camera bag

I normally carry my Olympus E-600 with a 14-54mm and 40-150mm lens.

Feedback

Pay attention to the details. Choose your angle, adjust your camera settings and wait for the right time. Whether its catching an action shot or a barn, when you pull the trigger can make or break the shot. I spend a lot of time looking through my glass waiting for the perfect time to snap the picture.
