I took this photo on a small bridge in a park. My daughter couldn't walk at that time, so I sat her down, stepped back and tried to get her attention. I got a lot of great photos of her - that were the days! ;)Time
The sun was about to set. I love taking pictures at sundown, I love the mood and the warm color of the light.Lighting
Not really. Natural light all the way. I'm not a big fan of artificial light, maybe I'm just to lazy to set it up, maybe because with small kids running around, you just don't have the time or patience for it. ;)Equipment
5D Mark III and 85 1.2, as far as I can remember. Nothing else.Inspiration
I just wanted some simple portraits of my little baby girl. They grow up way too fast.Editing
The basics and lightroom (white balance, brightness, cropping), and just a bit of dodge and burn on the face and a slight vignette. In my camera bag
My 135mm almost all the time, up until I get in the mood for something else. :)Feedback
It's not a big deal and you probably already know it, but try to get on the baby's level. Do something interesting or funny to make the baby look your way (if you want that). Then take as many shots as you can, because they won't hold still for very long. Also I think choice of clothing is really importrant for a portrait. Spend attention to where the light is coming from and avoid harsh light on your subject. That's all. :)
