Behind The Lens

Location

I took this sunset photo as I was walking along the Gulfport, MS beach. Being a novice at photography I love taking different types of photos.

Time

This picture was taken at sunset along the beach in Gulfport, MS while I was visiting. The sunsets along the beach are just beautiful and there are lots of people walking along the beach taking in the view.

Lighting

Capturing the sunset throughout its process was wonderful to see since they are different up North where I live.

Equipment

The only equipment I used was my Nikon D3000 camera.

Inspiration

My inspiration for this photo was the amazing sunsets that the South has to offer as compared to the different sunsets up North. My co-workers had informed me that the sunsets were beautiful and I just had to take the opportunity to view it to the fullest.

Editing

I cropped this photo in order to get what I thought was the best photo possible.

In my camera bag

I carry three lenses in my bag, with the 15-35 mm lens being what I typically use for any indoor pictures I need to take. Most often I use my 50-200 mm lens which was also what I utilized to take this sunset photo. I find this lens to be the most versatile for me. Whenever I am taking photos of nature, including birds, animals, etc., I use my 50-300 mm lens. Recently I've purchased a tri-pod which I have yet to use but I am looking forward to trying to.

Feedback

As soon as the sun starts to fade is the best opportunity to head to the beach and view the sunset to its fullest as different photo opportunities can be obtained.
