Location
I took this photo near Hamilton, MI on my front porch.Time
The sun was rising as the storm was rolling through the country side.Lighting
This was taken in natural light with no modifiers or filters.Equipment
Camera: Canon EOS 70D, Lens: EF16-35mm f/2.8L II USMInspiration
Sometimes you have to find and wait for the shot your hoping for. Other times the shot you are hoping for comes knocking at your front door, such was the case in this instance.Editing
I did some post-processing in Lightroom. I bumped the contrast whites and darks up a bit.In my camera bag
Canon 1DX and Canon 70d, EF16-35mm f/2.8L II USM, EF24-70mm f/2.8L II USM, EF70-200mm f/2.8L II USM, Lee soft and hard graduated ND filters and a 10 stop "Big Stopper" ND filter, Really Right Stuff 40 Ball head on a Gitzo tripod, two Canon Speedlite 600EX II-RT all in a FStop Tilopa Backpack.Feedback
Storm photography is being at the right place at the right time. You can keep an eye on the weather forecast, but even then, only God knows the patterns of the clouds and the lighting, if you are there, you're blessed!
