Location
This photo was taken at Gardens By The Bay (Singapore) during a short trip there before I actually moved to Singapore. I am not a professional photographer but instead an amateur hobbyist who try to capture breathtaking views (from my point of view) during my travels to share with others.Time
This wasn't a planned photo trip and was shot while I was walking around the gardens about 11pm at night. Noticed there were some stars and barely any wind on that hot humid night so I took a shot. Never did I imagine the result would be something as nice as this.Lighting
This place is actually very dark at night save for the boardwalk lights across the lake and the lighted up supertrees in the background. Due to this, I could raise the ISO quite high in efforts to capture the stars over the night sky.Equipment
The photo was shot with a Nikon D750, Tamron 24-70 mm F/2.8 Di VC USD and a Sirui T-025X Tripod with C-10X Ball Head, no filters.Inspiration
The only inspiration I would say is all the lovely night photography photos which I have been seeing on instagram and viewbug. Honestly speaking, this photo however was a spur of the moment photo. Many of my photos are usually taken as and when I see something which I feel is breathtaking to me.Editing
Being a photography amateur the only post-processing I do is in lightroom only for exposure compensation, contrast, highlights and shadows tweaking. Nothing special like merging multiple photos or whatnot. This is a plain single shot photo.In my camera bag
The first thing I pack is always spare batteries definitely. Learnt that the hard way during a travel trip to Taiwan when I only had 1 battery and it ran out too quickly. A trusty micro fibre cloth, rocket air blower and a sunglasses for when the sun is too glaring. Planning to add on a set of LEE filters soon.Feedback
Singapore has a ton of nice photography spots especially around the Marina Bay area although the weather can be rather unpredictable (clouds / clarity) therefore I suppose you either need luck or multiple visits to the same area. For night shots it is probably better during the new moon period.
