Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in Weimar, Germany.

Time

It was taken in the pick of the Golden hour.

Lighting

Although it had good Colors to it, I wanted have more drama and mood so I went with a Black & white photo.

Equipment

It was a Nikon D5200 with kit lens 18-55, on a simple Hama tripod, nothing fancy about the equipment xD

Inspiration

When I saw the formation of clouds, which looked like feathers in sky, I knew I would get a nice photo out of the situation. but after seeing this lonely tree I went nearby to have it in the frame.

Editing

Simple post-processing is applied just went to B&W mode and tried to make it look a little bit more moodier and so on.

In my camera bag

As I said I had a Nikon D5200 back then but now I have a D800 and a 24-120 f/4 kit lens.

Feedback

During golden hour and specially, interesting cloud formations are very nice to photograph and chance of getting a good photograph is very high. After atmosphere finding a subject to fill in the frame is the most important. For this particular image as I saw the lonely tree I knew its gonna be something interesting. Just had to wait for the bird to fly by and done!
