both characters would make fabulous subjects in photographs on their own also, the lady is almost a modern mona lisa type, very beautiful.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Cape Town , South Africa at a steak restaurant that had been opened for 40 years, which is now sadly closed down. The models , friends of mine , a real life couple were a pleasure to work with. Our interaction and communication between my eye and their presence was beautiful.

Time

We shot this in the early evening as no one was there and it gave us a ghost like, romantic atmosphere. The location belonged only to us at this time.

Lighting

I wanted this image to seem like a painting and used only a soft box with one 400 studio light.

Equipment

I shot tis image hand held with a Mamiya 465 film camera

Inspiration

I was building my portfolio and looking for a different take on fashion photography. Really my inspiration came from my beautiful friends, like I said before basically an incredible subject, meshed with our relationship and a vintage location.

Editing

no

In my camera bag

These days when travelling I just carry a Canon 70 d , a polorizer filter and a small prima photo travel tripod. At home I still have my Mamiya 645 film Camera and a Canon 5d mark ii
