Black Rock Harbor Light, less known as Fayerweather Island Light has stood here since 1823. This structure replaced the wooden one erected in 1808. It is on Fayerweather Island, part of Seaside Park, off the coast of Bridgeport, Ct. Now illuminated by solar panels, it is now just ceremonial. There is a huge osprey nest on the top of it ( towards the right of the photo). The island is now a nature preserve and is only accessible by traversing the breakwater jetty.
