My friend Todd Myers and I backpacked 10 miles into the amazing Weminuche Wilderness area and found some challenging late spring conditions. 7 miles in, we had to bushwhack through willows and snowbanks and fallen logs due to a destroyed bridge. Upon arriving at our campsite I could not help but stare at the awesome power of Echo Mountain (center) flanked by Thunder Mountain (right) with the ominous Grizzly Peak (right of center) in the distance. What an incredible string of mountains! I hiked straight up for a thousand feet from Vallecito Creek to witness and photograph this sunset - accentuated by incredible crepuscular rays. What an amazing sight!
