Location
I have taken this photo in a beautiful abandoned and decaying castle in the North of France.Time
I remember entering the castle rather early in the morning to not draw attention getting in. After waiting for about an hour inside for the light to be perfect I took the shot. I already had my camera setup.Lighting
While photographing abandoned places I only work with natural light. Using a flash may draw unwanted attention to me being inside. I waited for the light to be the way I wanted it to be and took my anticipated shot.Equipment
I've been using a Canon 650D for a while and I took this shot with a Sigma 10-20mm. While exploring I always bring my Vanguard Alta Pro tripod with me.Inspiration
Pianos fascinate me. Music produced by this instrument has a relaxing feeling and I love to listen to it. Therefor pianos are one of my favorite abandoned subjects to photograph.Editing
Yes, I did some basis post-processing in Lightroom and continued in Photoshop for the finishing touches. In my camera bag
I always carry my camera body with 2 or 3 lenses. A wide-angle lens is standard for me to bring and I might bring a 50mm or 90mm if I plan to make detail shots. Next to that I find it important to bring gloves that protect my hands from getting harmed and I have a small med-kit with me. Lastly I need a flashlight, which I always have with me.Feedback
Take your time, enjoy the moment and the room you're in and try to see the subject from different angles. Get creative and don't be afraid to experiment.
