Location
The famous Glenfinnan viaduct in the West of Scotland carries the railway to Glenfinnan Station across a 1,000 ft span, 100 ft above the ground. The Jacobite steam train runs from here to Fort William and Mallaig in summer months with regular trains available the rest of the year. The viaduct features in the Harry Potter films carrying Hogwarts Express.Time
Mid afternoon in May 2016Lighting
The sun was coming in from the opposite side of the viaduct to where I was, so used exposure bracketing.Equipment
Nikon D5300 -18-55mm lens - tripodInspiration
I was looking for another angle away from the viewpoint where most photos are taken. The walk out to the viaduct was well worth the effort for being successful in capturing this shot of the other side of the viaduct with the snow covered mountains in the distance.Editing
I processed the photo with Aurora HDRIn my camera bag
Having only just bought the camera I had nothing more than a camera & tripod with me.Feedback
Take plenty pictures and look for unusual angles.
