Location
My wife and I took a day trip to Banff, Alberta. During the trip we stopped at many locations to enjoy the day. This particular photo is of Two Jack Lake, a very popular place for divers, kayakers and people looking to enjoy the Rocky Mountains.Time
This photo was taken mid afternoon, you can see the shadows on the mountains ever slightly.Lighting
I tried to capture the correct level of green, between the light green grass and the dark green evergreens. No additional lighting or flash was used.Equipment
This photo was taken with a Nikon D3200 DSLR with a 50mm M/Focus Lens.Inspiration
I have taken a trip every year to this place and for some reason the framing of the tree in the foreground, the lake and mountains in the background just felt like a nice photo.Editing
I did some slight down saturation on the photo i think less than 10% just to remove some of the brightness from the sun.In my camera bag
My camera bag is typically used for shooting films. My standard lens is a 50 mm manual focus as i like the look of the image. I also have some high speed SD Cards.Feedback
Any photo taken in landscape the question i would ask myself, if i take my time and relax look through the lens and what i see is it something that would interest others as well? if the answer is no, then i move left, right, squat and maybe the perspective of the image will change just enough to pop.
