Location
The image was shot from atop the Torre del Mangia in Siena, ItalyTime
Around midday. It seemed to take an eternity to climb the 400 steps to the tower peak.Lighting
The day was a bit overcast but sunshine appeared intermittentlyEquipment
Canon T3i with a Tamron 28-75 mm lens set at f10, ISO 100, no flash, handheld.Inspiration
The view of the city was breathtaking from this vantage point and well worth the climb. The city felt modern and medieval at the same time. The solitary color of the neighborhood was appealing against the blue sky.Editing
No post processing. In my camera bag
My bag carries 2 cameras- the T3i, and a second unit, a Canon 60D with. Tamron 10-24 mm wide lens, a speedlite, spare batteries and cards, as well as a remote unit. Occasionally I bring along a gorilla pod, but most of the time I use the bag as a stabilizer.Feedback
Although the climb was challenging,(the stairway width was extremely narrow, and the foot traffic was going both ways), this is a shot I had been looking forward to getting for quite some time. Don't give up on the shot!
