Location
I took this photo at the home of the models. They are a husband and wife team that I've worked with several times. On this day we just took it easy and shot a romantic afternoon. It was like I wasn't even there so I gave no direction to this shot just waited for the right moment.Time
I started shooting at 10 in the morning and it lasted a couple of hours. I use their big picture window for natural lighting with no reflectors.Lighting was all natural coming from a really big picture window.Lighting
I used only the light coming through the window. I did bring with me some studio lighting with umbrellas the I could have usedd for bounce lighting or reflectors but decided with the afternoon sunlight I wanted it to stay natural.Equipment
I shoot Pentax K10 camera with a Sigma 28-200mm lens. I kept the camera on a Slik tripod during the shoot. I might have removed it for maybe one or two shots but for this photo it was mounted.Inspiration
Just watching the two of them interact with each other and patiently waiting to see the right moment and when it came , which it did several times, I would take the shot.Editing
The background was not important to me and I thought it robbed the attention from my models so I blurred the background around them to make them the center of attention and made it b&w. I use Photoshop CS5 to do my editing. In my camera bag
In my camera bag I carry two Pentax cameras, an older ist* and my newer K10. With the ist* I keep the kit lens on it and the K10 has the Sigma lens. On my K10 I have the extra battery mounted to the bottom for longer shoots and I keep the charger in one of the camera bag pockets. I have a lens cleaner, extra SD cards and a notebook.Feedback
If someone is going to do a shoot like this I find it best to work with a model or a couple several times so there's a comfort zone developed without that comfort zone their photos, in my opinion, will show in their models face or faces or how they pose for the photographer.. Be up front with what you're looking for in your photos. If you want to shoot nudes then let the model know before the shoot ever begins.
