Location
This photo was captured during a road trip that lead us through Yellowstone National Park for a day. This particular shot is of the Grand Prismatic Hot Spring. This geothermal hot spot is the perfect breading ground for extremophile organisms to thrive creating the brilliant orange and red colors across the hot spring.Time
This photo was captured mid dayLighting
It was a bright sunny day in the parkEquipment
This was shot on a KODAK Z712 IS ZOOM digital cameraInspiration
I loved the contrasts between the bright blue sky and green mountains in the background and the red and orange tones surrounding the main pool of the hot spring. It was an absolutely amazing site!!!Editing
Very little post processing was needed for this shot. I only slightly adjusted the contrast and saturation. In my camera bag
I tend to have a backpack full of equipment when out exploring, and let me tell you it gets heavy when backpacking in remote areas!!! I generally have my Canon Rebel T5 with an 18-55mm zoom lens, 55mm lens and a 75-300mm zoom lens, a mini tripod and shutter relay, my GoPro with a handful of mounts and accessories and lots of extra batteries and memory cards.Feedback
My best advice for capturing great nature shots is to just get out there and explore!!!! When the view is beautiful it is hard to get a bad shot!!!
