Location
This was captured just outside Almer Hut, way up above Franz Josef Glacier.Time
You can't beat getting up at 2am to beautiful clear skies after being snowed in with a blizzard for half the night. We were here to shoot Astro, so that's what we got up to do.Lighting
Full natural light here, the stars emit their own glow and the moon had just risen over the snow capped peaks, giving this nice side lighting.Equipment
This was captured on a Canon 6D, Samyang 14mm lens and Sirui tripod.Inspiration
The whole place is inspiring, we were just trying new things and had gotten used to walking around this cliff, which drops a good 25-30m on the other side.Editing
Basic editing in Lightroom and contrast adjustments in Photoshop – also removed some yellow snow...In my camera bag
2 cameras and a whole pile of lenses used for different purposes.Feedback
See any workshops advertised where you can fly up a mountain and stay in a cabin? Do it!
