Location
This photo was taken near my village Untuguru in Andhra Pradesh, India. This photo was one in the series of images when I was trying to capture life in Rural India.Time
This picture was shot in the evening hours of a hot summer. I was riding on my bike looking for something interesting to capture. Then I found this guy who is going for fishing. I didn't remember the exact date when the picture was taken but it was shot at around 4:00 pm to 5:00 pmLighting
After shooting the subject from front I thought of capturing the subject from behind so that I can highlight the reflection in the water, and I think that's what worked for this picture.Equipment
This was shot on Nikon Coolpix 8700 and no other equipment was used other than the camera.Inspiration
I was trying to capture the essence of Rural India while I was travelling around my village. I was looking to capture beautiful landscapes, people and culture in Indian Villages. When I found this fisherman I thought he would be a perfect representation of the daily lifestyle of people around the villages in India.Editing
I used Picasa to slightly crop the image and later applied the Black & White filter as I thought black & white would bring in a lot of dept to the image. In my camera bag
By bag usually contains Nikon D7000 with lenses Nikon AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II which I use more as I shoot outdoor more. I also have a Tamron AF18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC and Nikon TC-20E III 2x Teleconverter which I use for capturing wildlife.Feedback
My advice while capturing these kind of pictures is we have to check for the right angle to capture the image so that the natural light would help to highlight the subject. Standing against the light would also give you great silhouette images. Visualising the image in different angles before capturing would really help you in getting out the best shot.
