Behind The Lens

Location

This photograph was taken by the banks of the River Medway at Maidstone in Kent.

Time

This is probably one of my favourite images because it was photographed at dusk and the river was still, which created the perfect reflection.

Lighting

The light from dusk was just perfect, especially when it was teamed with the lights of the buildings just starting to illuminate.

Equipment

This photograph was shot with my Canon EOS 70D with the following settings Aperture 7.1?ISO 100?Shutter 1/5 using a tripod.

Inspiration

I love cityscapes and reflections... the reflection of the building was just perfect

Editing

Yes, I process my images in Lightroom Classic. For this one I edited it using a split-toning and gradients,

In my camera bag

Normally we carry two cameras both Canon, one being a 70D and the other being a 600D. The two main lenses we use are Canon EF-S18-155mm, Canon EF-S18-200mm. You will also find in the bag a Canon 24mm Pancake Lens, remote shutter release, Hoya filters

Feedback

Be patient.. check the weather and wrap up warm... it can get chilly especially doing night photography. Try taking the image at different angles and use a tripod to capture your images and you will need a longer shutter speed in low-light conditions. We with various exposure settings for HDR. The ones we use are 3-bracked exposures, -2, 0 and +2. Above all.. don't forget to enjoy your surroundings and be creative in your processing.
