Cheetah watches over Wildebeest herd, Babati, Manyara, Tanzania.
I wish to acknowledge Chris Wiles and his contribution of to this image. Chris was a wonderful travel companion on safari to Tanzania. We were photographing this cheetah from a different angle and he suggested we move our vehicle. This was the result and I just took the photo. It was a lesson that improved my photography. Always look for the best point of view when taking photographs!
Chis had grown up in Tanzania and his knowledge of the area was vast. He was travelling with us on a safari I was guiding. He could have overwhelmed my knowledge of the creatures, history and the environment but he made weighted contributions that enhanced the safari enormously without taking over. I enjoyed his company enormously and remember the knowing glances we shared. He was a beautiful person and an absolute gentleman. Sadly some time after our safari I got the news that he had passed away. The world lost one of its best human beings!
