Male owl was "barking" and trying to lure me away from his nestlings which were safely hunkered down in a nest about 30 foot up in a Ponderosa Pine Tree. Took this shot in the western foothills of San Pedro Mountains, New Mexico at about 0730 am as the sun was peaking up over the crest of the mountains. Check out the different sizes of the pupils in response to the varying light condition.
