Early one morning after patrolling our local beach as a sea turtle patrol volunteer, I was fortunate to witness the beauty of this pair of least terns during courtship and mating. They were oblivious to me sitting in my jeep, snapping pictures, and getting a glimpse into their lives. Least terns are protected in our area which made this image of the fight for survival all the more endearing.
