The caribbean side of Panama and Costa Rica are known for Banana plantations. Back in the late 1800's American Corporations were growing bananas in this region for the USA. They built a train line to be able to transport the bananas. This photo is of the train line crossing over the border of Panama and Costa Rica. It is not used today. The bananas are now shipped out of Almirante instead.
