This is from a series of anthropomorphic characters I create from mirrored wood and trees I find when hiking. This one is tree roots that I saw by the Truckee River in Reno, NV. I have been making Woodies for many years now, originally from actual wood and now digitally in the camera. Pareidolia can cause people to interpret random images, or patterns of light and shadow, as faces. I refine the faces I see in the wood so others can see them as well.
