The Treat Stone, Clancy's Strand, Limerick, Ireland, on the banks of the River Shannon.
It is said that the Treaty of Limerick was signed on this stone, in 1691. This was a major turning point in Irish history and so the stone was preserved. It was placed on a plinth in the 1930's (I think it was then) and has been moved a few times since, to avoid damage, due to traffic. It's within 40 m of where the treaty is said to have been signed.
In the background are King's John's Castle (13th century), St. Mary's Cathedral (12th century), City Hall (20th century), pub (16th century) and Limerick Court House (18th century).
