The photo was taken in Mir during the car trip with my wife and friends around the cities of Belarus. Mir was in top of our must see list in this coutry because of beatiful and well remained castle situated there.Time
This photo was taken at sunset nearly 9 PM, on May 1, 2016. The time was mostly selected because of the wind - it stoped blowing right before I thought the ripples would never end that evening.Lighting
That evening the weather changed rapidly from rain and dramatic clouds to warm and peaceful sunset. The photo shows the castle and its reflection in blue hour colors and calm mood.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon 6D with Tamron 24-70 F2.8 SP and Benroe tripod.Inspiration
Before the trip I realized I could make good sunset photo of the castle using the nearest pond for capturing castle reflection. Then we came to the castle and I understood that my idea was brilliant! I made many good shots around the castle from different spots but they are all not so good as this photo (thought my wife thinks otherwise).Editing
My normal post-proccessing routine includes Lightroom to corect whitebalance and brightness and Nik Collection to correct colors in specific parts of photo. For this photo post-processing I had to use Nik Collection Viveza 2.0 to correct colors on castle and make the picture a bit brighter on castle part and its reflection. In my camera bag
Now i have Canon 6D body, Tamron SP 24-70 F2.8 as my main lens and Samyang 14mm F2.8 for astrography and wide angle shots, ND and CPL filters for Tamron and Benroe tripod.Feedback
Here, in Mir, you can make awesome shots at sunrise or sunset using pond or try to make something unusual - maybe shot from small hill with flying birds right before the main exit to the castle.
