Is this St Nectaln's Glen? I stay in Trebarwith (well, Treknow) nearly every year and have walked past this so many times. I can't for the life of me think why I've never actually gone in (I seem to remember there's a charge, but it can't be that much).
Anyway, superb photo; you've captured it beautifully.

There is a charge, but it's worth it, and they'll lend you a pair of wellies if you'd like them. Thank you for the nice comments

Location
A little known place called St Nectan's Glen, near Tintagel in Cornwall. It's about a mile's walk from the car park and you get to a little cottage and hermitage where they serve delicious cream teas in the woods beside the river. They also offer you wellies as you have to paddle in the river to get a good shot of the actual falls.. I chose to go barefoot, but this did make it a bit tricky keeping a steady balance. The water falls from quite a height and, over time has punched through the stone to create the hole.Time
Middle afternoon in early May, lovely day but the glen is mostly covered in trees and quite deep down.Lighting
I was really pleased with the effect created by the light on the waterfall and the rocks but because of the trees up the sides of the river it will often create nice dappled light and I was lucky to get one on the day.Equipment
Canon 70D, EF16-35mm Wide angle lens (which we'd just bought and was its first outing), tripod and a polarising filter.Inspiration
My partner and I were on a week's photography holiday in Cornwall. I'm fairly new to photography and my partner is my mentor, tutor and guide. I've been wanting to try photographing waterfalls for a while and we found this place by accident. It is a beautiful place, sort of other worldly and peaceful.Editing
It was a bracketed shot of 3, 1 stop either side and merged together in Photomatix. There was also some water spots on the lens because of standing under steep walls that were dripping which I've removed. In my camera bag
We've recently updated our kit and gone down from two cameras to one, upgrading our lens to the Canon L series and we now have a 70D with the EF16-35mm lens, a EF24-105mm, 50mm macro and a EF100-400mm with a 2x EF extender (nicknamed big bertie which actually doesn't live in the bag but always comes with us). In the bag we also carry a set of 3 Lee ND grad filters and a Lee Big Stopper, polariser, plus a Hahnal Captur kit, spare battery and spare SD card.Feedback
I'm still in the learning stage so don't feel I've got anything to offer advice wise. Maybe to have patience and persevere even if the day doesn't look too hopeful. I've learnt that even the dullest days and the wildest weather can actually make the best photos. Oh, and be prepared to get up very early to catch the best light or stay out late into the evening.
