Behind The Lens

Location
This photo was take-in Cologne from the "Triangle". The Cologne Triangle is a 103.2 metres (339 ft)[1] tall building and a prominent landmark in Cologne.
Time
I took this photo right at the end of the blue hour on the 26th of Dezember in 2015.
Lighting
The difficulty of this picture was that i had to photograph through glass and because i was the first time at the "Triangle" i had no polarizer with me. So i tried to get as close as possible to the window to avoid any reflections.
Equipment
My camera gear: Nikon D610 and D5100. Lenses are the Nikon 18-55mm the 50mm 1.8 the Tamron 24-70, 70-300 and the 150-600 and last but not least the 105mm Macro from Sigma. My main tripod is a Benro C2570F and for traveling i use the Rollei Compact Traveler No. 1. I do not own any flashes but several filters from polarizers to ND.
Inspiration
I have seen great images on the web from this location, so that i decided to visit this amazing spot. It is only a 1 1/2 hour drive for me to get there, so i visited this place several times thereafter.
Editing
I took out some reflections with photoshop. My usual workflow is post processing in Lightroom and a little photoshop especially to sharpen the images afterwards.
In my camera bag
For cityscapes is usually in my bag the Nikon D610, a standard zoom (24-70mm Tamron) the 105mm Sigma Macro Lens and a polarizer and ND-Filter.
Feedback
Your main goal should be to get at your spot at the right time. For me it is the sunrise or sunset. But be early enough on your spot, so you should have to prepare yourself and do some planning before you get to the spot of your choice. You have to think about the driving and parking situation, which could be a little bit difficult in big cities.
