This is the amazing view from Tasman Lake in Mt Cook National Park. Waking up at 4am, 30 mins trek in darkness, setting up the camera and tripod while struggling against the howling bitter cold wind.
The water was cold when this image was taken however the adrenaline generated from witnessing first light hit the peaks was more than enough to keep me warm!
This was, by far, the best sunrise that I had ever witnessed in my visits to this place.
