Behind The Lens

We did this session in a local gym during a quiet morning. The owner is a friend I've photographed a number of times, which helps ????
I think we started around 10am? I brought studio strobes, there was no natural light, so really, time of day isn't relevant.
Trying to save space I think I stuck to using umbrellas for this.
At this time I was shooting a Canon 5d2 with the 24-105mm L-series I still carry. It's f-4,but with studio lighting it is still a fantastic lens.
If you've seen my work, you already know that human potential is my thing to shoot, so fitness, dance, strength, & contortion feature heavily in my portfolio. My background in natural health and weightlifting my whole life really make this my jam.
I cleaned up the background and the mirror, but otherwise it's all about the b&w.
In my camera bag
When I'm shooting fitness or physique there's always a second bag with oil, water spray bottle, mineral makeup powder, and whatever props we've decided on. That could be outfits, masks, chains, rope, weapons,... Whatever fits the theme.
Get permission from the owners of any location, be sure to keep safety in mind, take some glass cleaner and a good shammy to save yourself some touch up time.
