With little permanent water the dry season definitely is testing for the hippo's, rivers shrink to streams, lakes to ponds and the Hippo's find themselves with less and less water. As they are fiercely territorial the bulls are constantly irritated. And as for us humans they have the disturbing habit of flinging dung around to show dominance they end up swimming in basically manure pools, covered in poop..
