Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in downtown Mexico City, I love walking around the city and take pictures of everything in this city that conveys a lot of live color and sounds. It did took me a lot of time to take this picture, I was standing in a corner just waiting to feel the shot obviously people started to notice that i was standing theres, just looking the people walking pass by and looking my surroundings, but it worth the waiting to have this shot made.

Time

I took this photo some time ago but it's definitely one of my favorite HDR photos, especially that it is a style of photography that presents quite challenging when taken handheld. But still I remember taking a while standing in the corner to be able to accomplish this picture.

Lighting

I love sunset lights, nothing makes feel more in need when theres a golden sky. It´s like a message asking to be photographed.

Equipment

I always carry my Canon 6D with a 24-105mm Lens with a Circular PL filter.

Inspiration

Definitely the sunset with that golden hour but especially the architecture that transports you to the years 1888 to 1900 one of the many reasons I decided to leave the image in black and white with some color of orange sunset to get to that feeling of that age.

Editing

Yes I did, this picture is a HDR image taken handheld and to give that feeling that we was traveling back to time.

In my camera bag

I really don't carry that much equipment but the basics are a Canon 6D, 3 extra batteries, 3 SD cards, 24-105mm Canon Lens, 75-300mm Canon Lens, Yongnou Speedlite YN560-II, Polaroid OneStep, Filters and Manfrotto 390 Tripod. Everything fits on my Incase DSLR Pro Pack.

Feedback

Take pictures of what really catches your eye, don't stop practicing and be really patient for taking any picture nobody is rushing you, wait for the right moment, that moment will let you now that its time to take that shoot you been waiting for.
