Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken during a woman's spiritual getaway. During my quiet time, I walked around with my camera and even though it was raining, I noticed one woman walking around with an oversized umbrella. I asked her to stop and look away. Rain and all, I got this shot.

Time

It was around noon but given the overcast skies, that time of day is pretty irrelevant.

Lighting

The lighting is all natural. Overcast, rainy and no harsh shadows.

Equipment

Canon, t5i at the time. Probably even a kit lens. Again, given the rainy conditions, a super sharp lens would have served no purpose anyway.

Inspiration

The emotion and solitude of the moment. It was supposed to be reflection time and I was concerned about interrupting her quiet space.

Editing

Rarely can i see a photo and think this would be far better in black and white. So thats what i did.

In my camera bag

Compared to then, too much. Lol I now shoot a lot with filters so I use my tripod.

Feedback

Just be observant of your surroundings. Sometimes someone or something really does walk into your scene.
