Location
I created this photo in my home, string of lights in the bedroom and the bottle in the hallway outside my bedroom door.
Time
I did take the photo at night time so that even though it was inside my house, I had the best odds for darkness in my room to set the background as dark as I could get.
Lighting
In creating this photo, I was reading online on how to create a bokeh photos through other photographers' suggestions. In order to create a shot like this, the background has to be as dark as possible so that the lights, at their distance, create a beautiful bokeh.
Equipment
This photo was created with the 1st generation Canon EOS - I also used a tripod. The camera's timer and a tripod were used because the exposure was long and I did not want any shake, so that there would be no blur on the bottle and so that all the bokeh could come out rich in the background.

Inspiration
There were a number of bokeh photos I saw on Viewbug that intrigued me. I wanted to know how to create such an interesting and engaging effect. The only way to do this, is by taking the time to educate yourself through tutorials or other photographers' suggestions - this is why I love VIEWBUG!
Editing
I did very little post-processing, but there is one BIG thing I did do to the photo, which is turn it upsidedown. So, the original actually has the lights on the top and not the bottom.
In my camera bag
I always keep 2 extra fully charged batteries and an extra lens I can use for further distances, if necessary. One of the most important things I carry is either a granola bar, or a small bag of trailmix. I get so caught up in taking photographs that I sometimes forget to eat and feel faint!!! A bit of food is always important as a pick me up as well as a bottle of water.
Feedback
My greatest advice to any photographer is not to be afraid to experiment, in all different ways! Whether it be through setting up a wild shot ahead of time, or engaging in radical and strange light - whatever is outside the conventional ideas of photography!
