wow, every detail of the animal , clear and bright , its eyes looking right at you, the claws gripping the stump, the blurred background makes the colors of the animal pop

Location
This image was taken in a friends photo studioTime
This particular image was taken in the morning of an all day macro photographic sessionLighting
A professional strobe lighting kit was used throughout the day with triggers attached to the cameraEquipment
This particular image was taken with a Canon 7D and a sigma 105mm macro lensInspiration
Chameleons are notorious for moving their eyes independently of each other. I specifically wanted to try and get an image with the eyes facing in the same direction at the same time, preferably looking directly at me. After several images, I was finally able to capture this image which was the only time in the whole session that Rusty looked directly at the lens with both eyes facing the same way at the same time :-)Editing
The only post processing used was Lightroom purely to sharpen the image a littleIn my camera bag
I have two Canon 7d bodies. When outdoors I normally have a 70-200mm 2.8 lens attached to one body and a 150-600mm attached to the other. For wider angle shots I also carry an 18mm-250mm lens. Indoors I predominantly use my sigma 1o5mm macro lensFeedback
Patience, patience and more patience. Animals never do anything to order (unless specifically trained to do so). Always be on alert looking for an ideal opportunity. This image was taken just at the right time, a split second later and the opportunity was gone. As mentioned earlier, I wouldn't have had the opportunity again on that day.
